Ténin Sanha Legrand is a French designer whose practice explores how objects, materials and spaces can bring together cross-cultural influences to create new forms, atmospheres and aesthetics. Working across object, spatial and graphic design, her approach combines research, material manipulation and iterative making, with a particular attention to composition and fabrication processes.
Following a preparatory year in spatial design at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Ténin graduated with highest honours in Art and Design from the European School of Fine Arts in Brittany in 2025. In 2026, she completed an MA in Design Products at the Royal College of Art, supported by the President and Vice-Chancellor’s International Merit Scholarship. Her graduation project, Echoes of Home(s), received the RCA Creative Experimentation Award, recognising an Innovative Experimental and research-led approach to design.
Alongside her studies, she has explored a range of materials and production methods through professional and research-based experiences. At La Réserve des Arts in Paris, she worked on eco-design and spatial displays using reclaimed materials. While her participation in the "Géocéramics" residency led her to investigate locally sourced materials, natural glazes and traditional kiln firing techniques.
Drawing on these experiences, Ténin develops a practice that combines material sensitivity with technical investigation, approaching object design as a process of research, transformation and exchange between materials, forms and cultural references.
